Ended up stuck in ER for a day and a half and everyone here did everything they did to care for me and make me comfortable while trying to transfer me. Shout out to my day shift nurse Christine, and a huuuuge shout out to my wonderful nighttime nurse whose name I didn’t catch but who went out of her way to bring me a comfortable bed and give me sleep meds and walk me through my care options. She had long locs or twists maybe, in a ponytail and her badge was flipped around when I tried to catch her name but she really went above and beyond for me. She deserves infinite praise. The team was all fairly prompt and cool under pressure when they got slammed. I live in the east end and avoided this hospital due to things I’d heard about it, but every time I’ve been here has been a wonderful experience.

I don’t generally leave reviews but as someone who will avoid a hospital at any cost this was a pleasant experience. The nurse & staff are incredibly kind and do not make you feel like an inconvenience. They really put your well being first and do not try to push you out. I hear about a lot of bad experiences in hospitals and would really recommend them. I spent time in their ER & PCU.

As an American traveler to Vancouver BC for a cruise I didn’t think I would need a hospital. But circumstances brought me to Richmond Community Hospital in BC. I arrived in the ER and immediately felt the care and kindness of each doctor, nurse and staff person. It never changed. I was admitted on a Sunday and saw Dr Barker, Dr Lu and Dr Schwartz. All skilled professionals. Diagnosed quickly and efficiently! Treatment started. Moved to Inpatient as soon as a bed was available. I got to the floor and the doctors, nurse and other staff continued to show their caring hearts. No one wants to be in a hospital but if you ever need one in the Vancouver area, I highly recommend this one! I’m so grateful to you all!🌺 Jacqueline Sanchez Arizona

Absolutely fantastic service from this ER. I went in recently due to severe abdominal pain and not being able to keep food or liquids down. I was worried that it was a problem with my gallbladder or pancreas. I received care immediately on entry. The reception ladies at the front were so kind and helpful while I was signing in. I waited for about 10 minutes maximum before being let back into a room. The nurses were very polite, quick, and helpful. They administered medication to help my problem asap, and helped with pain management which was much appreciated due to the amount of pain I was in. I have a very high pain tolerance and I’m not the type of person to express pain or discomfort so I’m very grateful that the doctor listened to me and my pain and did everything she could to help me. Stellar service, I won’t even bother trying another ER in the future if I have an emergency.

This Christmas I had a rather frightening health crisis and found myself in the hospital for 6 days. And I just want to say that if you have to be in a hospital during the holidays, then RCH isn’t a bad place to be. The only drawback to RCH is it is small, but it makes up for that with a staff that is top notch, professional, compassionate and friendly. They take very good care of their patients and the staff helped me have a wonderful Christmas in spite of being stuck there for 6 days.

The ladies who sit at the desk when you first come in have to be theeee most unprofessional people I have came across. In your face talking about everything except "how can I help you", as if people come to hear who is on the schedule, who has made them made for the day and who keeps calling their phone when they are off. Anywho Reid and Liz are ANGELS ON EARTH!

My experience coming to the Emergency Room of Richmond Community Hospital on June 7, 2026 was a relief. As busy as an Emergency Room can be at times, the professionalism of the registration staff, to the professionalism of the nurses attending to a patient's needs prior to the professional doctors that evaluate the patients is absolutely important. Not one time have I ever experienced a negative attitude from any employee (I don't like calling the professionals 'an employee'🫢, but hopefully, you know what I'm saying. I want to thank Trysta, the attending nurse, as well as Dr. Simons' evaluation of my condition. Also, the lady who did my ultrasound.that did my ultrasound. I had such peace of mind leaving the Emergency Room knowing that I was seen by a wonderful group of people. I couldn't have asked for any more.
